People from all around Bolton came together to see what free groups and services are available to support them this week (Tuesday, 26 October), at an event organised by our Social Prescribing Link Workers.
The drop-in event at Victoria Halls in Bolton Town Centre, was the largest of its kind in the town since before the pandemic. Launched by our Chief Officer, Michael Smith, and with live hosting by our friends at Bolton FM, there was a real buzz and busyness to the day, which saw over 100 people attend.
More than 30 community partners showcased what they do and how they can help people, spending quality time chatting to residents and to each other. Alongside the stalls, there was some interesting and entertaining taster sessions on Bollywood dancing, ‘Laughing’ yoga, Tai Chi and seated Pilates.
Residents were treated to a free brew, HMPasties and free entry into a raffle, with prizes donated from Bolton GP Federation staff.
We would like to thank everybody for helping to make this such a great event!

“It was a brilliant event – well done you for organising it… I found it really useful to find out what is happening and things that are opening up again and it was great to catch up with quite a few people/organisations I haven’t seen for ages. Big up for the pies as well – they were amazing!”

“Thank you so much for inviting us to be part of this wonderful event. It was really useful to meet other organisations who are doing amazing work in and around Bolton.
