I have worked for Bolton GP Federation for four years as Primary Care Network Manager, initially looking after Farnworth & Kearsley and Chorley Roads PCNs. My role is to build the business and infrastructure of the primary care network alongside the Clinical Directors, all member practices and other stakeholders. During the last four years I have become the Senior Network Manager and now managing Breightmet & Little Lever PCN.

Day-to-day my role is very varied; a large part of this is coordinating the recruitment and retention of new roles, managing projects and budgets and overseeing the contractual requirements of the network and ensuring we meet them all.

My team has somewhat increased year on year we have welcomed Amy Humphries, Hayley Arthurs and Heather Porter as Network Managers. Chloe Jackson and Abby Edmonds as Deputy Network Managers and Prity Mistry as Data Quality Administrator.  I would like to thank them all for all their hard work and dedication to their team.

It has been an exciting year with us continuing to implement our Health Inequalities projects through the PCNs, giving me a sense of job satisfaction that we are making inroads within the PCNs in improving the quality of people’s lives.

We have also made great progress in developing our modern general practice plan and have introduced Econsult, new websites and working towards implementation of a new cloud based telephony system.

Going forward into next year health inequalities will be one of the main focuses, improving experiences and quality of health care through the wider determinants of health working along side our colleagues in the new Neighbourhood teams.
